The Pfingstweidstrasse region in Zürich‑West is a busy, partly industrial‑looking corridor that runs roughly parallel to the railway tracks between Hardbrücke and the Toni‑Areal, forming a key east–west axis in Kreis 5. Around the Toni‑Areal, the area has been transformed from old factory land into a dense urban mix of university buildings (ZHdK campus), student housing, offices, and cultural venues, while Pfingstweidstrasse itself remains a heavily trafficked street with tram lines and ongoing plans to soften it into a greener, more livable “Pfingsthain” boulevard.
