The Schiffbau in Zürich is a converted former shipbuilding hall in Zürich‑West (Kreis 5), originally built in 1891 as part of the Maschinenfabrik Escher Wyss & Cie. for constructing ships and boilers. Today it is a cultural hub housing three stages of the Schauspielhaus Zürich, the jazz club Moods, the restaurant LaSalle, and various studios and offices, forming a key part of the district’s post‑industrial arts and nightlife scene.
