Irchelpark is one of Zurich’s largest and most distinctive urban parks, combining natural landscape design with modern university architecture. Built in the 1980s around the University of Zurich Irchel campus, the park features rolling hills, artificial lakes, wild meadows, concrete stairways and elevated walkways that create a layered, almost cinematic landscape. The contrast between the raw institutional buildings and the lush, partly untamed greenery gives Irchelpark a unique atmosphere somewhere between a public park, a campus and a modernist landscape project.
