The Siedlung Grünau (also called Überbauung Grünau or Wohnüberbauung Grünau) is a large post‑war housing estate in the Grünau‑Altstetten quarter of Zürich, built in the 1970s to provide additional, mixed‑income housing at the city’s western edge. It is a high‑density residential complex with long slab blocks, a high‑rise tower, and communal green spaces, designed as a self‑contained “town‑within‑a‑town” with housing, schools, shops, and services.
