Bürkliplatz is one of Zürich’s central hubs, sitting where Lake Zurich meets the Limmat River, right at the lower end of Bahnhofstrasse and the lakeside promenade. It serves as a major transport node (trams, boats, pedestrians) and a lively public space with markets, events, and views over the lake and the Alps.

From Bürkliplatz, the Quaibrücke leads across the Limmat toward Bellevue, while the Limmatquai–Münsterbrücke–Münsterhof axis continues up into the old town, linking the lakeside with the Fraumünster and the historic Münsterhof square. This short stretch combines waterfront promenade, bridge crossings, and medieval‑core squares, forming one of the most scenic and walkable routes in central Zürich.
